Many wonder how she sees the world-some say her vision is the glory of her work, the vivid colors of her paintings that leave awe and breathlessness. Some say she is still a child at heart, her innocence and chastity reflected across the canvas’s artwork she creates.
Contrary to belief, Hanamoto Hagumi sees the universe just as it is.
The fact remains that her hands are gifted by the power somehow greater than nature itself; the way her tiny arms move, the way she touches the white paper gently to see if the paint is dry. She is a small girl that bursts with the talent of her era.
But then again she is a small girl. Hagu often feels insignificant and out of place and while she knows that she is not completely isolated (she had her Shuu-chan, didn’t she? And Ayu, Takemoto-kun and her other friends), sometimes it is as if words are not enough to deliver them her understanding. It is either that, or she simply wants to show what she felt when gazing at a scenery; she all paints it from memory, the pictures coming together by little pieces, the emotion that her five senses received gleaming in every stroke of her brush.
She is not proud, but loves what she does and will give her everything to dedicate her entire life to her true passion, art. The astonishment of the people is not what she seeks but her own happiness and critiques she can breathe when she is finished. Deep down inside, she thinks her motivation is quite selfish, though she goes on because it is necessary, she has to have that silence when sculpting and she needs her creations to look back at her to live.
It is her way of surviving in this world, where so many are often misunderstood.
