Here's the deal.

I got extremely frustrated with the LJ writing community I am part of, and had to walk away, cold, for a bit to keep from getting stressed and ticked off at trying to flog people into doing something that should be a fun and relaxing activity. I was tired of being one of the very few checking in and making an effort to keep people informed, and ( Read more... )

If it's Tortuga you're talking about, I'm really sorry. I know that no one, including myself, has been around, and as a result it's pretty much shriveled and died. If you'd be interested in some writing though, I'd love to get something going, even just using our own characters, outside of the community? I don't know exactly how it would work, but I'm thinking something like your Rothwell journal but with two contributors? Think about it anyway! Hope you're doing well, x

Yes, it's Tortuga - and I'm not mad at anyone or anything like that. Just frustrated with the effort in the situation, but the break was good for me and let me relax :)

Always like RPing with you, Dabria. Let's come up with something.

I did build a kind of alternate Tortuga RP place as a backup, but it hasn't been used to my knowledge. If you want, we can just play in it as the only two (or three? Depends on if Rahkus is still interested) and write for all the characters with no worries about whether or not anyone else joins unless they really want to.

I don't want to get caught in having to wait for 5+ absent people again - I figure if we expect to do the writing, and others adding in is just frosting for the cake and not needed to progress, that'd be fine with me.

Yes, totally interested... after no one responded to my last RP post, it kinda fell out of my mind; out of sight out of mind. That sort of thing.

I have been attacked by the RP bug for Tin Man lately, but no one wants to play. Generally any playing would be a good thing

Coolness. We can definitely use the site we set up - I don't mind it being open to application but I don't think we should try to net a bunch of new members. If people find it and seriously want to write, great, otherwise we can get more done if we don't bother with that so much and just write stories.

Rahkus and I made it as a backup in case PoT went poofle. So there it is.

Cool, I've bookmarked it. I have exams starting on Monday, which is horrible, but I should need a distraction at some point. I'm not going to lie, the idea of a forum based RP is not appealing at all, and would normally put me off completely, but it's better than nothing.

I think I've RPed in so many venues that I don't have a preference anymore - they've all got pros and cons. If it turns out more con than pro, I'm cool with trying something else.

One thing I do like with not posting in an LJ RP forum is that threads won't get buried or blocked by other threads.

The rest... we'll see, and no rush, we can get to it once the free time is available for you.

Oh, and we definitely need to find a way to log the PoT stuff for future reading and reference. Maybe one thing we could do on this site is put up a folder for favorite "past post" archiving.

There's some stuff we've written that I'd hate to see disappear from LJ at some point.
