There was once a very well-off little boy who had many, many friends that he adored so very much. They would always hang out and play with one another.

He would get his dad to rent them limousines so they could go to the batting cages together. His father would pay for them all to go to Disney World once a year. He even took them fishing on a giant lake in Florida where they all had fun together, catching fish and playing in the water. The little boy was truly blessed with not only a very large financial backing, but the best friends in the world.

One day, however, when the little boy's father went to work, he found out that his company was relocating several states away. The family had no choice but to move. Despite the little boy's tears, his happy memories and his incredibly strong friendships with all of the children he grew up with, he went along with his father.

"It's for the best," his father told him.

Of course, he made several friends at his new home several states away. But none of them were like the ones he had in his old neighborhood.

Time passed and he went to visit his old friends several times, having a blast each and every time. Then came problems.

The little boy's family ran into severe financial difficulty. After all of the smoke had cleared, the little boy wasn't "rich" anymore. His father couldn't pay for trips to Disney World for him and all of his friends anymore. He couldn't afford to fly him back and forth to his neighborhood ever-so-often so he could see his old friends. Indeed, the little boy was sad. But yet again, he understood the situation and listened to his father.

"It's for the best," his father told him.

The little boy wrote letters back and forth to his friends talking about the fun they used to have and how they wish they could play with one another again.

One day, the father saw how very much the little boy missed his old friends. He saw how much he wanted to hang out with them, even if it was just one more time. But sending him to see them would cost a pretty penny, and wouldn't be the most financially wise thing to do. This time, however, the father saw through the financial bindings. He saw how much the little boy wanted to see his old friends.

"It's for the best," the father told himself.

The boy went to see his old friends and was full of excitement every bit of the way there. However, when he got there, his reception was a little different.

The little boy didn't have go carts to drive anymore. His father didn't have the financial freedom to let the little boys go places and do things like they used to.

The little boy's friends ignored him, for the most part. Of course, they spoke to him, but it was obvious the "friendship" wasn't there anymore. It was like they had just met one another.

When the boy returned home, he realized that his old friends weren't the same anymore. They didn't act like they always did. They didn't treat him like they always did. The friendship wasn't like it used to be.

The boy was very upset, sad, depressed and the like. Afterall, who wouldn't be? But through it all, after all the smoke had cleared, he found resolve. It was time to move on.

Why?

"It's for the best," he said.
