A couple of things are worth noting:
- I still hate cell phones, just like I always have. I only carry one because a) it’s paid for, b) I am forced by my family to have one and c) it’s sadly kind of necessary for work.
- Work is awesome, especially after my bowling feature on Chris Barnes (
which can be read by clicking here). I got a “best effort” for it, whatever that’s worth. The highlight came when my sports editors (of the Traveler and the Sun) told me it was really good.
- I still don’t know who my roommate will be when I live in the Pike house next semester, or if I’ll even have one. I will, of course, do my best to see to it that I have a room to myself. However, that isn’t guaranteed, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
- NCAA 2006 is the most awesome game ever. It has my life.
In other news, I still haven’t decided exactly when I am moving back to Fayetteville. I know it will have to be relatively early if I want a good room in the house. Plus, it’d be good so I can fix the room up and maybe even the house as well. Lord knows it will need it. I want to stay and work at the Sun for as long as possible, but I also would like to get to work for the Morning News in Fayetteville as soon as possible.
Oh yeah - the Morning News. Well, I will be working as a stringer for them (I think) during the school year. Definitely one of the cooler jobs I can have in addition to busting my ass for the Traveler, which will have the best sports section EVER next year.
I watched “Super-size Me” the other day at Masters’ house. Oh… my… God. That’s all that comes to my mind after watching that movie. I did eat McDonald’s today, though. I don’t think I’ll eat it for 30 straight days, though.
I really want to go fishing soon with my friends. It would be so fun to take a trip up to Lake Charles with some poles, some bait and a couple coolers and just relax one day. It’s just a matter of getting them to come along with me. And that, damnit, is going to take some work. Who cares if you worked the night before? Who cares if you work later that afternoon? Who cares if you don’t like the heat? God, people, just get out and do something fun. Come catch some fish and drink beer with me.
I can’t believe that it’s July 16 already. Fucking school in a month. I don’t mind the whole living in Fayetteville thing. I really don’t this year because a lot more of my friends, and some of my better ones, will be joining me this year. That will make it much easier and much more fun. It’s the class I don’t look forward to. It’s not all that difficult. It’s just fucking boring most of the time (granted, there are exceptions). Nevertheless, I’ll have to follow through with it just as I have in the past, and hey, I might learn a thing or two if I stick with it.
I hope everyone’s summer is going well.
