Walpurgisnacht

These past two weeks saw me sinking deep into the swirling depths of near constant academia. I didn't do much aside from do research for papers, commit said research into writing, and do the usual schoolwork on top of it. It'll all be done in a week, no complaints. It just is. So far, all the papers I've gotten back thus far have been A's, for whatever it is worth.

Sometime during this period, I think 2 weeks ago on a Saturday, a disgusting scene occurred at one Sharon's house in Colonia that involved loads of alcohol, buckets of vomit, and carpets of urine. An obnoxiously filthy evening filled with the blandest personalities I have ever experienced to date.

After that last Sunday was kind of a blur, as was the entire past week. Not blurry in the sense that I don't remember anything, it just seemed to pass at an incredible rate... probably due to school ending in about a week. I know things were finalized with Tim concerning the trip and other little things.

Friday was bulk day with Don, Ian, and later Josh. Saw lots of things, I got a bunch of books, including The Celestine Prophecy, which I started reading in Wales about a year ago, but stopped about a chapter in for no real reason. I completely forgot about it, until I saw a copy of it laying amongst a pile of other books. Considering the subject matter of the book concerning coincidences, the chance discovery of it in the rubbish pile was noted. Also got a ridiculously heavy organ with thanks to Josh and Ian for the help in motion.

This weekend was supposed to be Stokes, but that got condensed into one good evening. Huge fire, lots of lols, and good talks about parallel universes. Don and Josh left Saturday morning for all too amusing reasons. Got loads of good pictures though, I'll put these up later. Ian and I stuck around until later in the day, the weather up there was really strange, average temperature, high humidity and low cloud ceiling, so everything had this deep misty ethereal quality to it. Drove around a lot and then wandered around the abandoned farmlands outside of Walpack before hiking in Tillman's Ravine. Good day, nice ride home through the swirling rain clouds as well. During the evening the mists set in well here, and I took a walk through Unami with my minidisc recorder as it sounded as if every single bird was out making noise.

During all of this time I've had my first bad bout with seasonal allergies in a long time. Clogged sinuses, terrible sleeping, sore throat etc. It's slowly going away, but it's indeed a great annoyance, though I can make some ridiculously deep voices when I wake up. Today I made a large pot of spicy peanut soup, my grandma stopped by for the afternoon and dinner, as my grandfather was taken to the emergency room on Friday evening with what I now know to be mild kidney failure coupled with a near OD on vicodin. After dinner Ian came, and we went up to Watchung to climb rocks... though we didnt really climb, but just wandered around out of our minds. When we got to the top of the mountain by the swastika campsite we banged a bunch of gongs till the sun had descended.

Deep Sleep.
