First of all, if you know a Freezer Burriter song, please let me know. Because it just begs to be sung!
But as long as I have 10 lovely burritos all lined up, bagged and ready to freeze for crazy-day lunches for the next month, I'm taking a break to write here before I start on the dishes.
Not that I have any idea what to say.
New York was great. Not Saturday, when it rained the whole time. And the wind blew. Inverting our umbrellas over and over until they snapped (we went through 4 before I bought a rain bonnet instead). But the food was amazing. The Statue of Liberty was striking. And the chocolatiers were top-notch.
We didn't hit a broadway show, but we did see the off-broadway "Zero Hour" about the life of Zero Mostel. Our seats got bumped to the front row. We laughed. We learned some history. We wept. It was a fabulous one-man show. Really a delight.
I've been getting out more lately. I was surprised and touched when a casual friend of mine invited me to his birthday party last weekend. He did a piano-bar theme in his tiny studio apartment, and everyone had a wonderful time. I found myself wanting to meet more of his friends, and see these people again - so I'm going to see if I can make that happen.
In the meantime, my lunches-to-be look terrific. They're not terribly expensive to make, and definitely much healthier than anything I can buy at the grocery for a dollar. Whole grain, veggies, legumes, and cheese. Yum.
Which I guess means I should start on dishes.
