Today was full of events and progressions.
I began by heading over to the pool and Jules's house, where I picked up some longboarding/skateboarding skills, and didn't make a significant fall until I attempted to ride down the big hill in front of her house on Matty's skateboard. Which was dumb, because I had only gone down that hill (well, 2/3 of it!) on the longboard which is TOTALLY different. Ugggh. But I mean, I hope I'll get better! I decided I like longboards wayyy better because they're so much easier to turn. More snowboard-ish.
Anyway, Oh! Before that, I went to Bank of America and opened an account. They don't have any Wachovias in Honolulu, plus, I don't have my own personal account anywhere anyway. My "personal banker" was a very attractive young man who let me slide by without an ID besides a driver's license. Whew! I definitely didn't want to have to drive back home to get a student ID, or what have you. So now I have my own checking / savings account, which is happy for me because I've never had anything like that before. Now I just have to wait a week or so to get all the stuff that comes along with having accounts and whatnot.
And lastly, I started registering for classes. The academic advisor was SO helpful, and is trying to get me into honors courses by way of SAT scores - she said they're more interactive, which is something I definitely want. I need these things to hold my attention!! So far the only class I registered for was Conservation Biology, but hey, it's a start!!
