*it is kind of amazing how quickly people have joined in opposition to the new facebook newsfeed. in less than two days the official petition group has more than 200,000 members and every time i refresh my page there are 100 new members. and there are around 500 other opposition groups.
people have pointed out how great it would be if they rallied together for something that actually mattered. one guy even wants to write a book about it.
"The premise of this book is simply all posts made within the first 24 hours of the group's inception.
Everything written on that wall is something sacred... we all made friends that day, September the 5th, 2006, simply by talking. The largest group to band together in the shortest amount of time in history, fighting for one arbitrary purpose... and it led to something amazing."
i'm just fascinated by the whole thing. there is a silent revolt going on on teh internets involving hundreds of thousands of web-addicted high school and college students. the petition group has gained 5,000 members in the time it took me to write this entry.
