Occupational Hazards

I reach. Something is not right. My chair is turned the other side. I see a glint at the top edge, it is his bald patch.

"What brings you here?", I ask.
"Sit down. We need to talk" says he.

I take my place, he turns around. We are face to face now. I can see the veins in his cruel eyes, i avoid them. The past comes flashing through. The life, before it all started, the feeling of wind in your face, the cool evening breeze, enjoyed with those that i cant now remember.

I fought hard for the cause but, at the end,  was it worth it? Those broken promises, those long days and sleepless nights filled with nightmares of the dreaded consequences.

"We do", I say and grimace I see he has his weapon in the holster. I, on the other hand, am unarmed, not being eligible to carry a weapon yet.

"I heard you want to quit. You thought you would give up and desert? You know of the consequences, right"
I start sweating, beads of perspiration roll down. The Air conditioner gives up the fight with the heat in the room. I am weak. I just want out.

I prepare to leave. He reaches for his weapon, pulls it out of the holster ( its a brand new Blackberry 8520), unlocks it and shoots me a mail. The mail hits me, right at the top of my Inbox. I have been careless, I forgot to move his mails to Junk. Its too late now. I am forced to read. I see the end coming. The words make no sense ( they never did), in fact they are not sentences, just random words. I flip back on my chair and die. A long abusive relation comes to an end.

I find peace at last

Where do i work? I'd have to kill you if i told you...!!
