So, on Thanksgiving day we poured over the advertisings trying to see where we would be camping for the night. Would it be Best Buy, land of last year's fiasco? Would it be Target? Would it be some store I'd never heard of? We looked and we looked and we looked; and we realized, the sales this year sucked. Not wanting to give up the experience, I convinced Bobby to stand outside of the px on post. We got there around 8pm with the store opening at midnight in order to get a 20 dollar gift card each. A few days before I had been wandering around there while Bobby was in class, and I found a vase that I thought was just gorgeous. It was priced at just over 18 dollars. The sort of thing I would want but not really want to spend the money on unless it was a special treat. Then again the sort of thing I would throw a gift card at in a heartbeat!
Then we went home to get a few hours rest before battling the crowds the next day. We mostly picked up dvds at Best Buy and Circuit City (bought a few online from the latter as they were out of stock in store, and I love the TV show House). We also ventured to Target and picked up a Norelco razor, and a few more dvds including A Christmas Story. Then we snagged an office chair for Bobby. We ended staying all of that night (from about 1am through 8am) at Walmart to grab a PS3 with 10 free dvds.
So all in all, we got several good deals but still felt that Black Friday fell short of our expectations.
