i think the new way im going to be a pretentious fuck is, in addition to knowing a lot of obscure bands im going to comment on the structure of their songs and their knowledge and use of harmony counterpoint etc. I'll say things like "yeah ive heard of explosions in the sky, but they've got some really messy melodys, and they cant' seem to balance their chords, and the vocalist always sings a little sharp"
