I really wanted to update after my road trip...but for some reason I didn't. Anyways, my two week road trip was a blast. I saw hundreds of pictures worth of awesome views and even more memories were made.
San Diego - Mammoth/Bishop - Telluride, CO - National Parks in Utah - Las Vegas - finally back to San Diego.
I only wish I could have brought the pup along with me, but alas that was too impractical of an ordeal and so I left her behind.
Some things I hope I never forget: Broken camping chair, imaginary bears on the other side of the water, a certain somebody getting beached while floating down the river...and then someone else's special tanning pattern from the same day, a speeding ticket, nothingness in NV, Puppy Parking, The Sweet Life, fearless chipmunks, free gondola rides (which one night led to free food), giant dog head in my face, The Colon Cleanse weight loss club, The scenery in Utah, a particularly adorable squirrel pleading for food, Onion strings after Danny's most awesome invented drinking game, the Impeeweeo Pawace and how happy Cheezit was that people were finally home.
Some things I would rather forget: The asshole teenage boys at Zion that thought it cool to smash rocks against the walls of a Natinal Park...even after they were asked to stop AND the Magpies that decided to share their early morning arguments with the entire campground right above our tent in Colorado.
Some things I wish I could remember: "Drunk a mile, Walk a while" and everything else I said while drunk in Vegas.
But now...I am in Hong Kong.
I made it! It was cool, there was a Brazilian Olympic team (I assume equestrian team) on the same flight as me. They were all in their "Brazil" uniforms and had their own luggage. All large navy blue suitcases with a big "BRAZIL" stitched top centre and "Olympika" in smaller letters at the bottom beside the, of course, 5 rings.
I have decided that of the few airports that I have been in, YVR is my favourite. It's beautiful! There's water and skylights everywhere. It even has a really large aquarium with fish, star fish, cucumbers and anemones! It was just so nice to sit and walk around in. There is also an A&W. (o:
I also forgot that HK immigration for residents is freaking awesome now. There are these double turnstyle gate type things. At the first gate you slide in your ID card. Then, at the second gate you get your thumbprint read...and then you're free to claim your luggage. The efficiency is awesome! I was through in no more than 5 minutes.
As to be expected of the summertime, the weather is warm and sticky - although, fortunately, not too sticky thanks to infrequent showers. I am also considering going on a run in it. I have a feeling there could be a lot of weight gained during my three week stay here otherwise. :P
