Japonisme and Art Nouveau.... kinda

Lately I've been trying to add more non-fiction to my reading diet.  Currently I am devouring "Japonisme Comes to America: The Japanese Impact on the Graphic Arts 1876-1925" and it is dry but really interesting (is that even possible?).  It doesn't have much to say about actual Japanese artists, but it does give some in depth info on various Westerners who learned to mimic certain styles (woodcuts, print-making, etc).  I think my favorite one in the book so far is "The Homecoming" by Bertha Lum:

I might be biased- I am currently redoing my office and these are the colors I want to use :)

Theater Street, Yokohama, another one from Bertha Lum (who called her daughter Peter Boy, btw 0_e):

And this last one is The Daruma Branch from Helen Hyde:

Thank goodness Japanese art styles spread to the West- without them there would be no Art Nouveau!
