Tonight was supposed to be a fun night with Hubbs... we had dinner out at one of our favorite restaurants and had rented
Ugetsu, a Japanese ghost story that we had wanted to see for a while. BUT.
But, but, but... and I swear this ALWAYS happens... the DVD was scratched beyond repair. It seriously looks like someone took a bit of steel wool to it.
So... we tried to get a movie on TV, but literally the only one showing was
Sliding Doors, staring Gwyneth Paltrow from the late 90s. *le sigh* The movie wasn't actually that bad, but it was a bit of a let down after our DVD plans fell through. Also, since it was Friday night the commercials were pandering to a certain crowd- it was full of funeral service providers, reverse mortgage information and and AARP specials. Also, I have the unfortunate habit of speaking in an English accent whenever I hear one, and the movie took place in London 0_0 I don't even like English accents, but I'm sure I'll be suppressing the urge to talk with one for the rest of the night!
I would love some film recommendations for next Friday- I am determined to have a traditional dinner-and-a-movie Friday even if it kills me! :) And I will be checking the back of the DVD next time >:/
