Today was a beautiful day! It was 55 degrees and sunny, which is nearly unheard of in January.
My co-workers took me out to a nice Italian restaurant for my "goodbye" lunch- the gnocchi sorrentino was delicious! It was such a nice day Julius and I decided to go for a walk in the park afterwards! It was wonderful to be among the trees and in the sunshine. I have a certain amount of fond nostalgia for the North American Wilderness since I spent most of my formative years building tree forts and running around in the woods behind my house. It saddens me that there will be few opportunities to go for a walk in the woods after we move to Southern California.
I have made progress on my quilt! Here are the blocks I have finished thus far:
Sewing everything by hand really takes a lot of time, especially since I'm working 40+ hours per week and also enjoy reading/writing. I think my husband is buying me a sewing machine for my birthday in hopes that I will actually finish the quilt before my cousin's marriage :P After all, I only have until August!
I was lucky enough to stumble across two interesting comics today!
The Meek and
Strays. The Meek is a beautifully drawn comic- I love great art! I am excited to find out more about the characters- I wish it updated more often than once a week! All the other comics I read have spoiled me by updating several times per week :) Strays also has nice artwork, but more of a manga style, I guess? I was originally put off by the fact that Strays features people with tails, but the characters are really endearing! I can't wait to see where the story goes :)
Time to read a little more Brothers Karamazov and then bed!
