GUNS NEED TO BE BANNED. I firmly believe that anyone who has the desire to own a gun is mentally unsound. *opinionated* In Japan, citizens aren't allowed to own guns, and there were only 17 gun-related deaths last year. In the USA? Tens of thousands. That's ridiculous ( Read more... )

I agree. Guns are illegal here in the UK and we hardly have gun-related deaths (although I'm not sure of the exact statistics). I can't imagine living in a country where pretty much anybody can own a gun, it's a scary thought :/

I hear that, Ana. The second amendment right to bear arms is so outdated. It was originally intended to keep the "minute-men" civilian militias. WTF??? We should be more willing to adapt to our changing society and technologies. So there's my mini-rant. Anyway, the point is I'm definitely in agreement with you. And also, I, too, have been kind of freaked out by that Virginia Tech Massacre. It's really sad to lose that many young lives, and also it's scary for us college-bound seniors.

So much word to your rant.

As much as I'm a firm believer in free speech and personal responsibility- I do agree with you, there is just nothing really good to be done with real guns. The guns that shoot bullets and kill things, there is just no real reason to have them in stores to be bought by anyone. If people need to shoot a gun so bad, then fucking play Half Life or something. Or go to one of those gaming places that have (fake, I take it?) shooting.. things. The name escapes me right now. XD As for being able to own a gun and keep it in your own house- how is it not asking for trouble?

Even though the gun is not to blame for the VT massacre, it IS to blame for the sheer amount of people that were killed. If the guy was running around with a knife, no way he could kill that many people.
