A Letter from a Broken Heart | theblobmaster | PG-13 | XiuHan | Character Death

The young nurse ran into the room as soon as she heard the alarming beeping coming from the machine attached to the young man laying on the bed. The alarming straight line was shown on the monitor and surprising herself she didn't panic. Quickly she began the CPR, calling for assistance because after all it was only her second day and she was not really experienced enough to deal with it alone. She pounded on his chest trying to get the heartbeat going again, providing air. Soon enough the help came with a heart starter. She took in the pale form on the bed. He had been beautiful she was sure. Lying there, cheeks and eyes sunken in a distant look in his eyes. She knew it was too late, he had already gone to where he was headed. She couldn't help but notice the sad smile hinting on his lips. As she stared at the boyman, she heard a distant voice calling the time of death and slowly all the doctors and nurses slipped out. They had other lives to safe, more important matters to take care of, but this young nurse couldn't shake off the feeling of something more than that going on with this particular patient. A little while later she heard a soft thud from the floor. Looking down she noticed a crumbled home folded envelope with a name, a number and a address scribbled on in hurried and weak letters. She bended down and picked it up. Neatly she straightened it out, opening it and took out the two pieces of paper. Folding it out and starts to read.

MinSeok opened his door and wondered why a crying girl was standing outside. Her messy brown hair was all over the place and her eyes red beneath the black rimmed glasses.
"Are you Kim MinSeok?" Her voice cracked and he wondered who had died. He tentatively nods and suddenly an envelope is held against his chest and the girl chokes on a sob.
"I'm so sorry, here this is for you." With that she runs off, MinSeok looks after her retreating form down the long hallway and sees her disappear down the stairs. Confused he looks down at the envelope that has fallen and scowls a bit trying to figure out why the handwriting seemed so familiar. Crouching down he picked it up and turned it around. The paper had been crushed in what seemed like a death grip. He get back up and go back into his apartment, closing the door behind him. He sat on the couch and carefully opened the the wrecked paper envelope.
Tears gathers in his eyes when he finally recognizes the handwriting and holds back sobs throughout his reading. Only breaking down when ZiTao comes into the room and holds him. The younger rubbing soothing circles on his back as he mutters assuring words to his Ge.

MinSeok always keeps that letter near his heart. When he plays with his kids, when he kisses his wife. Because deep down LuHan still has the bigger part of his heart.
