oh my. i'm at the airport yet again. i flew in last night from chicago and will fly to LA in forty minutes. as relaxing as indiana was, chicago is amazing. i never knew. here's the run down:
day one:
- pick up at the airport by my wonderful aunt felicia and cousin mary.
- met david dean.
- had a fabulous homecooked meal. lasagna. yum.
day two:
- millenium park. amazing. there was the grant park symphonic orchestra rehearsing in the outdoor theater, so we sat down for a while and enjoyed some brahms.
- chicago institute of art. i have obviously been totally clueless about how much culture chicago holds. seurat, renoir, picasso, monet. whoa. it's second only to new york in the us... = )
- miller's pub. great restuarant right by the palmer house downtown.
- the aquarium. they have jazz night every thursday. so we listened to a 4 piece combo while checking the fishies.
- SUSHI. so there's this sushi place called yue sun out in the suburbs. and instead of a regular sushi bar or buffet, they have a train that comes along with sushi and other tasty items!! it's amazing. i'll post a picture later if that doesn't make sense.
- surprise performance by jessica and david. i'm not afraid of anything. it was interesting. that's all. hah.
day three:
- navy pier. ferris wheel + water + good company (david and aunt felicia) + amazing views of the skyline= happy jessica.
- PATTI at ravinia in Gypsy in Concert. what can i say? patti is my hero for a reason. because she is amazing. she sounded fabulous and stopped the freaking show with rose's turn and made me tear up. ph patti.
- another impromptu performance by jessica. yay for singing! after gypsy, i felt like singing.
day four:
- chinatown. though smaller than nyc, it is definitely cleaner, and you can eat there without feeling you're going to die from a rare disease. yumm. they also have these great fresh fruit smoothies and bubble tea tapioca. oh and if you are ever there, you have to check out this boutique/gallery called holypoi...i believe that's the name.
- university of chicago. we just walked around for a little bit. what a beautiful campus! just amazing. go deborah.
- airport. sad to leave. = (
i had a wonderful time. go chicago. i want to check out some summer stock around there for next summer. now off to LA...
