Auggie can't remember the last time he's been to an amusement park.
Not since he was a kid, he knew that much, but apparently the island had aimed to change that. He's not sure what to make of a place that could make things like rides appear out of nowhere over night, but he's long since stopped questioning logic with this place. To say he's curious about the changes is an understatement, which is why he's glad his immediate assumption upon realizing what is going on is that Annie was going to drag him around ends up being right.
They end up spending the better part of the day together, him letting her lead him to whatever she deems interesting enough to stop at. They'd taken the monorail to the second island by then, walking along the (slightly less worn) path. Off to the side, he can hear what he swears almost sounds like carnival games running and the low buzz of voices of people talking and laughing.
"Sounds like we found someplace busy," he says, pausing to pop a piece of funnel cake into his mouth. He offers the plate he's been carrying in her direction if she wants a piece as well.
