I cried in front of her today. My mother, that is. She freaked out. She didn't know what to do. The only time I've cried in front of her is when we're fighting, and she always cracks first. But this was out of sadness, not anger. We've been talking about things that frustrate me and its making me cry, and she looks at me from her rigid standing position and just asks, as if she has never seen tears before, "What is making you cry?"
