On an entirely unrelated note, what the hell is wrong with kids nowadays? My twelve-year-old sister cannot figure out fractions, decimals, and percents. FRACTIONS, DECIMALS, PERCENTS. You know, simple math? This is stuff I learned in second grade, not middle school. And I learned it almost instantly. And it's not just math that gives her trouble. English also futzes her up. Neither myself nor my mother is particularly tolerant of her academic foibles, especially because we know she's not stupid. She has all the time in the world to get her work done, and even more to study it in. It might be the difference between a private education and a public one, since even though we live in a nice town, public schools, at least from what I've seen, don't really match the caliber of private ones. Excluding college, anyway. NJIT rocks the Stevens Institute's world. Then again, our trial by fire scorches everyone...
I'm spending the night in the dorms; I have a council meeting in the morning. I may run for vice president of the council later this semester. I will now wait while everyone shudders in fear at the thought of me winning popular elections and set up a dictatorship. =p
