I'm a little worried about this one myself. First, that it's not implemented through d20 Modern annoys me. Second, it's yet another tweak of the hit point and combat systems. And it's odd, because Mongoose did so well with the Dredd and Slaine licenses, both in the sense of adapting the mechanics to the properties and treating the licenses with respect.
Oh well. More money that I can spend on Gamma World, instead.
I am actually filled with rage that it won't be a d20 modern game.
I've always wanted to run B5 with BESM. I can stand to do it with d20, but I'm just so in love with d20's handling of classes that I have trouble returning to 20 level based concepts.
I was going to say "it can't be worse than The Babylon Project," but then I remembered that TBP actually had a game design element that I really liked (the fact that you didn't take Advantages and Disadvantages, you just took Stuff, which could be positive or negative -- if positive, you got the benefit, and if negative, you got luck points whenever it came up). So: It can't be worst than the rest of The Babylon Project.
The only thing I own from The Babylon Project is a copy of the GM's Screen I got for review from RPG.net. I meant to get the Earthforce Sourcebook, but never got around to searching for a cheap copy.
I had an interview with Mongoose in January (didn't get the job) and the B5 rpg loomed large in the conversation. Whatever else, Matthew Sprange's a serious B5 fan and wants it done properly. It seemed to be very much a labour of love (even a crusade) for him.
Of course, that doesn't make the game automatically ass-free, but I got a good vibe off the whole thing.

Hopefully, that means my local store will sell it for @ $56 bucks. Shame Chapters don't sell their stuff, eh? :)

Overall, it looks good. It's just the fact the PrC's they mentioned were all REALLY bad that upsets me.
