A night at the theatre

So last night Cynra, redeem147 and I took in Evil Dead: the Musical at the Diesel playhouse, and what a joy it was.

Dinner was first at Apache Burger, which is a fine old place (although rather grumpy). I suddenly realized we should have gotten a huge ass butter chicken roti from Gandhi and split it. Those things are awesome and huge.

Cynra eschewed the Splatter Zone, but redeem147 and I were positively vibrating with excitement when we took our seats. We had two of the best seats in the house (depending on definition, of course, of 'best seats' being front & centre).

So, after act one finished (act one being the one where any blood is maintained on stage) we took our breaks, and I grabbed a drink for Cynra & myself (mine was the Diesel Special, which was about four types of liquor and grapefruit and lime juice) and we took our seats.

Ponchos were being handed out, but that's for pussies, really. I had a well aged white t-shirt on, and I think someone noticed.

Do the Necronomicon was enjoyable (Form a pyramid!) and the big fight scene after that was great as always. I don't know how they direct the splatter, but I got about a litre of gore dumped onto my chest. It felt like a solid thing hit me. I used some leftover blood to draw a happy face on redeem147's shirt.

It was quite awesome. I was coated in blood from head to waist, and may have left a mark or two in the car on the way home. My steering wheel was sticky this morning, and I'm pretty sure there's a bloody handprint on Cynra's back seat. That'll go over well with the QPP.

A photo of my post show state will be forthcoming.

The actress playing Shelly/Annie was the same one who played Ulla in the Producers here in TO. I'm quite in love with her. I have no idea what Ouzounian's problem was with the actress playing Cheryl.

Ah, well. Super fun.
