Yeah, yeah, they come in Wednesday; don't do me no good.
Okay, got Power Company # 12 & Ultimates # 8, as well as the Superman 10 cent adventure.
Power Company is interesting. Manhunter's being a bit of a prick. I hope he ends up getting capped or at least fired when Josiah comes back. Of course, with my luck the book'll go Firefly on me.
Ultimates is about the Skrull invasion in the Ultimate universe (or at least something like that). The issue starts with Hawkeye & Black Widow taking out pretty much everyone in these two office buildings.
I just don't like the visual style of fight scenes in Ultimates & Ultimate War. It's a bit too fluid, and you can't really keep track of what's going on. There's a lack of familarity wit the physical space in the books, which makes it hard to track what's happening; I can't see the where, so I find myself troubled following the when. A lack of familiarity with the Who is also important.
The scene in UW where Cap takes out the entire brotherhood might have been better done if, ferexample, they'd done one of those single page pieces, where the physical space was static, but caps progress was tracked panel by panel as he moved across the space.
No one has any idea what the fuck I'm talking about, do you? I'm on crack or something.
The 10c adventure was neat, but it cost 17c in Canada. It gave some nice background to Supes. Should be one of those things stores use to promote themselves.
On a similar tangent, anyone know if their local comics store is going to use the promotion suggestions from C&GR? They look neat, and not too hard.
Oh, yeah: HeroClix pulls. Not too much cool, but I DID get a Rookie Human Torch & a Unique Catwoman (in a booster that also included a regular Catwoman, a Gotham Cop & Robin.
