Hail to the King, baby

Got to see KK with the wife last night. Enjoyable, yes, kinda long, yes. I shudder at the thought of the Extended Director's Cut.

Lot of dinosaurs in that, which is always good. The ravine scene was interesting. What's scarier than a huge spider, you ask? Lots of very, very big bugs. The tommy gun sequence was funny (an unwitting homage, one assumes, to Top Secret).

New York was nice. The ice-skating in central park was particularly enjoyable.

tfbretz has an interesting link to news coverage of the event. I can't help but think that the Simpsons bit was a really good homage.

Home to relax, and we saw Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man on the TV. Good episode, although I wonder if they were trying to build sympathy for CSM with the whole 'failed writer' thingy. An interesting goal, but they seem to have forgotten that they also established him as a cold blooded political assassin. Good to see Chris Owens in the role he was born to play (his other character's father).
