Okay, two things:
The idea of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo being adapted by the guy who made Se7en is enough to make me crawl into bed, duck under the covers & whimper for a cup of tea.
But I'm made of stronger stuff than that. And my wife has already left for work.
But, yes, the Swedish original is intense enough. I can imagine how Fincher's imagining will go. And it's moments like this where I wish Lovecraft was right.
Secondly, though, and this is more a matter of Mammon rather than Melpomene, this story is part one of a trilogy. The Swedish films covered all three. Is he locked in for the duration?
(Turning the page in the Wired article that inspired this post, I see the stars are signed for a trilogy, but Fincher is not.)
