So I've been doing the school thing for a few weeks now.
The biggest change to my daily routine has been the daily commute.
The first day, I caught a local Go bus on Mississauga road.
For those of you outside of the Gta, Go Transit is an intercity commuter service that provides train & bus service within the Gta. It provides service (in variable terms) for a lot of territory around Toronto. Its central hub is Union Station in downtown Toronto.
That does me no good. So I grabbed a local bus on Mississauga road.
Thankfully, I quickly found out that there was an express bus from Meadowvale to the York campus, where my classes are.
The bus schedule was strangely difficult to suss out. The times back from York are plainly posted at the campus bus loop, but the website for Go Transit is fairly useless. Thankfully there's a huge chart of the schedule for the various 48 buses at Meadowvale station.
I have classes on four days, and Cynra can either drive me to Meadowvale or just drop me off at the Milton Go station where I can grab the train to Meadowvale.
I've got the schedule written down on my iPhone, so I know the train bus combinations to and from school and have it down pretty pat.
I'm making use of the Presto card for my transit needs. Presto is a pre-paid transit card that is useable on almost every transit system in the Gta, except the TTC. Thankfully I don't take the TTC too often.
The Presto card is supposed to provide a receipt each month, so I'll be able to use it for the transit tax credit next year.
