So last night was D&D, which was awesome fun. Lacklow was doing reconnaissance around a Dwarven stronghold, and after freeing a passel of halfling slaves, learned that his sister had been previously abducted by the same slavetraders.
Well, that wouldn't stand. So, where previously he'd gotten the slaves free through threats and stealth, this time it was time for violence. Sweet, sweet violence.
The dwarfs were called, iirc, the King Killers, having overthrown the traditional monarchy in favour of an anarcho-communist situation.
Of course, meanwhile the other PCs were attempting to make diplomatic contact with the Dwarfs, in an attempt to bring them into the alliance against the hordes of the undead. Thankfully, they didn't manage to pull that off, or what followed might have been awkward.
Jim, the newest member of the party, continues to admire Lacklow's capacity for bloodshed. Seriously, you get him combat advantage, somebody gonna get hurt real bad. I think I'm actually missing some gear for Lacklow, so I may see if I can get something that gives some more bonuses.
So Lacklow freed the cage of slaves, learning that his sister was, in fact, held by the dwarfs below, and was in danger of being a victim of... The Returned Kings!
Ayep, the deposed dwarven kings had returned and slaughtered the supreme dwarven soviet, taking back the kingdom to feed their undead hunger.
It was quite fun, and Lacklow saved the last dwarf for interrogation (stabbing him through the face instead of in the eye; the similarity to Hot Fuzz did not go un-noticed).
Quite excellent to have a session that feels like it's focused on your PC (which it
kind of was).
