So this weekend was the Canadian Thanskgiving holiday, which was good.
Cynra & I hosted the family and a guest of
Umario's on Sunday for some roast turkey with fixin's and Rock Band. Uday's fiance brought a delightful cheescake pumpkin pie, which is enough for my blessing! I got to play a couple games of Xbox Scene It!, which remains a lot of fun, but I need a challenge.
kinra! Come and battle me, if you dare!
Yesterday we went to Guelph for
cinn48's Thanksgiving feast. I am pretty sure we'll be joining her for all her future holiday repasts. The turkey was a huge bird she got from the butcher shop where she works, and came out like velvet. The stuffing and potatoes and Yams (or are they sweet potoatos?) and all of it were awesome. NOMNOMNOMNOM!
We got to play a game of the Star Wars DVD trivia game, which I managed to squeak out a victory. We then played two games of Pandemic, where we didn't win so much. The first game (which was also a first game for
cinn48 and her roommate) was lost by a nose with us running out of cards one turn before the last disease could be cured, and in the second the outbreak counter just kept rising until it was game over.
We wandered home in a post feast haze, trying to navigate Guelph's construction choked streets. When we got home we watched last night's Big Bang Theory and some of a Hell's Kitchen episode.
Reality TV seems to be suffering in our tv watching. It used to be that HK, Survivor and The Amazing Race were all appointment tv. Now, we're weeks behind on HK, we've had two eps of Survivor deleted from our PVR due to neglect, and are only up to date on TAR. Plus, Cynra has kept up to date with Dancing with the Stars, until last night.
It's odd, but we've kept up with the new Robert K. Dick inspired TV show better than Survivor.
We grabbed Chinese on Friday or Saturday (honestly, I cannot recall for the life of me doing anything on Saturday other than cleaning and doing some yardwork), and I made the horrid error of getting Dragon & Pheonix based on the name alone. Well, on the name and plus on the fact that it's the store's General Ambiguous's chicken & breaded shrimp, and I like their General A.'s chicken, and as for shrimp, ain't nothing wrong with that!
Except, of course, there was something wrong with that, in that it sucked. Feh. Now I'm eating the leftover shrimp (bad shrimp don't get better when it's cold) and the leftover chicken. Since I liked the chicken and not the shrimp, I ate more of the chicken, leaving me with more of the shrimp.
Ah, well. Lessons learned.
