My giant party

Well, I learned two things this weekend. One: do not procrastinate when it comes to planning a party. Two: do not use e-mail as the way to ask people to come.

Here's what happened. I tried to get a group of people together to go see Resident Evil 2, and then go back to my house and watch Monty Python's Life of Brian. So I was going to meet everyone at the theater, right? Ok, so I get there, and I was kinda late, so I was in a hurry. I had seen Ariene and her little sister Kim in the parking garage, so I knew at least they were there. But when I went in the theater, I didn't know anyone. For a second I got really sad, but then I realized I must've gone in the wrong theater cuz Ariene and Kim at least came. So I leave that theater and find the one I'm supposed to be in. When I got in there, I saw Ariene and Kim. But no one else. People kept coming in during the movie and every time I saw a head appear I was like "OMG! People are coming!" But they were all people I didn't know. So I drove home. As soon as I got near my house, an obnoxious face-slapping self-esteem basher jumped out at me. Well, symbolically. The people right across the street from me were having a GIANT party. There were probably at least 30 people there. I managed to get a hold of Lyla, and she decided to come and watch The Life of Brian with us.

The Life of Brian is really funny. Although Kim thought of just about everything imaginable to talk about, and was carrying on a one-sided conversation throughout the entire first half of the movie, she fell asleep during the second half, so I caught more of the jokes. Lyla warned Kim that there was nudity in the movie, and Ariene said she'd seen movies like that before, so she could probably watch this one. Thing is, in this particular movie, the word nudity actually means nudity, not just a flash of someone's butt or something. So every now and then Kim would go "eeeeeeeeeeew!" even though we thought she'd been asleep.

Now I have to do my comp sci project. And chem lab. And, of course, the rest of my calculus. Blah.
