19 December to 29 December had a net "good" outcome. Unpleasant things happened, but I was so happy to be with my family. Hence the net "good". Some highlights:

Unpleasant...
My parents packed all the stuff that was for me (toiletries, new clothes, presents from friends including all the CDs and DVDs, DVDs for Nate via me) in one rolling suitcase. Of the 4 bags they checked, that was the bag that didn't leave London with them. Hilarity ensues. The bag followed us from Johannesburg to Nelspruit, then from Nelspruit to the private game reserve where we were safari-ing. Well, technically I think it got to the safari before us. Anyway. It was good when it arrived. And thank you everybody.

My grandmother fell ill during the safari and is still in Nelspruit at the hospital there. She should hopefully be better and able to fly in a few weeks. Unexpected extended vaca in scenic Nelspruit. Lucky, yes? Well, her inability to fly meant that just mom dad Kyla Broque and I went to Cape Town.

On the flight to Cape Town, dad and Broque did not tell Kyla and me the drinks were free. So they got drunk and Kyla and I just sat there like a bunch of sober children. Unacceptable.

I missed my return flight to Maputo because I don’t believe in calling ahead to confirm flights. Ha, take that South African Airways. You had to fly me to Johannesburg then Maputo, thereby extending my airtime and by proxy free drinking time. I didn’t care how late I was getting into Maputo because I was soozled.

I guess that’s quase pleasant. So onto Pleasant…

familyfamilyfamilyfamilyfamily. I missed them a lot. It was good to be with them.

I got new music, clothes and body lotion. Woot woot.

I got to hear the voices of my friends; whom I miss just as much.

Safari. Was. Awesome. We saw 4 of The Big 5 the first night. Lions and elephants and rhino and water buffalo, oh my. And the food. And the booze. Just too much.

Drankwankle.

The nuclear Ward family met up with Kris and her family in Cape Town. That went surprisingly well. And the Peace Corps Family Brigade grows larger.

We saw the Borat movie in theatre. Which was satisfying because Dad and Broque had been going “My wife…” during the whole trip.

Eddie Izzard’s “Glorious” Was on TV when I got into Maputo. Which Kris and I listen to A LOT since I have it on my iPod and we’re starved for entertainment.

Okay, other people want this machine. So I’m gonna go buy some champagne and drink alone in my hotel room to celebrate the New Year. Next stop amazing rock ‘n roll career.
