It's been 33 weeks since I have last updated. I might actually start using this thing again because I've started a new time in my life--I'm teaching high school English, and what I find amusing is that I started my livejournal when I was in high school.
So, I think I'm going to go back and read the things I wrote back then to remember what kinds of things my kids are going through and how they were approaching them.
It's funny, you think you remember something, but really memory is only a fabrication of what actually happened. As your understanding of the world grows, you have to leave the "how you thought" behind and only retain the "what you thought." It's like looking back on photographs--you can see them, barely remember them, but you can never truly relive them and have that exact feeling again.
One day you grow up from being a rebellious straight edge kid and the next day you're a rebellious straight edge teacher. It's funny. You change, but not really.
Wow, I've gotten to where I've set out for--this is probably what I am going to do for the rest of my life.
