Spencer Smith did not have a problem; he just had a preferred snack. Yes, he may bypass five other means of buying the same order, but that didn't mean anything of substance. Walking three blocks out of the way had to be improving his health. Hadn't his doctor been on his ass about his blood pressure during his last physical? If he multiplied the distance (1/6 mi) by the number of times he visited the small food stand (3 times), Spencer realized he walked an extra half-mile each weekday--and that could only be a positive thing. Wasn't obesity supposed to be an American epidemic? Besides, he was doing his part to support small businesses. Wasn't the economy in crisis? All of Spencer's reasons for visiting the Radly Walking food stand three times each day were solely for the good of the economy and his health; it had absolutely nothing to do with the flip-flop wearing, constantly mellow, attendant with the omnipresent five-o-clock shadow and hair begging to be swept out of his face. Nothing at all.
