We are going to Mesa Verde. I went my the summer after my junior year of high school but my grandma is adamant that we go again. She'll bring a book and sit in the visitors center and I will go around with my cousins. I'm pretty excited, it should be cool! I love natural history learning about ancient peoples.
It sounds cheesy, but this part of the country is so romantic. I can just see goldminers leading their donkeys along the dusty trail, cowboys rounding up their cattle, people settling little farms in the sagebrush. It is beautiful in a lonely sort of way, with long shadows and grey plants and big boulders in clear rivers.
Cheese-ball moment: I miss Shari. I wish she was here to do little errands with me, walk the dog along the river (he would love it here!), and just see all the cool thing I'm seeing.
Edit-
I am now full of beef stroganoff (sp?). I feel like I've eaten a whole cow already. Which is probably because the amount of beef I've eaten in the last couple days is equal to the amount I've eaten since about age ten.
(amount eaten age 22 - age 10) < (amount eaten last three days) = whole cow
See, it makes mathematical sense!
I'm excited for my knitting!
