It's not dumb at all - sorry for not making it clear in other posts.

Yes there is a minimum word count (but not a maximum one) of 20,000 words. I know it sounds scary, but I've seen people in other fandoms do it and thought "why not for Leverage?".

If you want a challenge but one that's not as long, there's leverage100 - a Leverage themed drabble community (strictly 100 words), leverage500 - another Leverage drabble community where you can write 100-500 words for the prompt, and a list of useful Leverage communities can be found here on leverage_hq.

Sorry for the rambling but I hope I've helped you out.

I have said that I will do this...and I totally will...I'm just wondering if I could do a cross-over and still qualify or if it's got to be just Leverage. Also...can I totally AU the CRAP out of it?? Basically I run in fear from Big Bang's usually...but I wanted to do this one...and I don't entirely know how it's all going to work.

*breathes*

Ok. Calm now.

We've got a FAQ in the works that'll cover this so I'll copy & paste what we've got for crossovers from there for you hun:

Are crossovers allowed?
Yes, so long as the focus of the fic is on the team or a specific team member.
Good example: NCIS/Leverage; Gibbs knows Nate by reputation and Eliot from a previous case, he surreptitiously gets their help with a case that he needs to close but can’t as he can’t legally gain access to crucial piece of evidence as his hands are tied by bureaucratic red-tape. The fic follows the Leverage team as they get said evidence.
Bad example: Stargate SG-1/Leverage; Jack O’Neill knows Eliot from a black-ops mission pre-Stargate and asks him to retrieve a stolen piece of (alien) technology from the Trust. The fic follows the SG-1 team as they try to cover the fact that they lost said technology and keep an intra-galactic dispute from occurring.

Is a crossover with more than one other fandom allowed?By all means yes! If you want to write a Leverage/Supernatural/Buffy-verse crossover or Leverage/ ( ... )

Yay, this gives me enough time to get a new computer...hopefully, as after the last time you posted, mine died. D:

I might try it long-handed and then write it up on GDocs if I can and yay for crossovers, since mine is that completely. Though, I do have another question. Is the crossover still okay if it's focused on two different main characters? One from Leverage and the other from another fandom, though they won't be romantically linked?

From our still-being-edited FAQ:

Yes, so long as the focus of the fic is on the team or a specific team member.

So long as at least one of the main characters is one of the Leverage team and the focus is on that person and who they're with, it's alright.

I hope you do write as you write lovely fics :) Whether you do write or not, I think we may just have to take you up on that offer of help *squishes*

Thanks hun - I'll be doing the promoting rounds later today and tomorrow, so there'll be a post on there soon :)

I am So Doing This. Seeing as how I have a fic in the works that's got over 20k words now. BUT!!! I has a question and it might have been answered already...just haven't read the faq...

I have a series of 'snippets' that have been posted in my journal that I want to rewrite/revamp. The word count for the snippets is approx 5k. With the new content I've added it's going to be well over 20k.

NOW, the question... Can I use this for my Big Bang since there's so much new content and almost every single thing has been reworked?

Sorry for the delay - had to wait for a response from my co-mod :)

We've talked it over and as you're definitely reworking all of the previously written stuff, it's ok for you to use it in your fic. I can't wait to read what you come up with :)
