So, yes, I’m actually writing a post after many eons of silence. I know some of you have nudged me in the past, but I’m afraid my free time has been fully occupied with a certain someone these days. =)
For those who have been totally out of touch with my life, I’ve been courting the beautiful woman of my dreams for the last seven months or so. Now we are betrothed to be married! Maybe this really is a dream somehow. As I wrote this post, tears were falling again while I listened to music and praised God for this incredible woman. How many times tears have fallen! How many times I’ve had butterflies, goosebumps, and sighs! She does that to me.
Charity. That’s the name that makes my heart beat a bit faster and my mind wander. She’s constantly on my mind. Constantly. There’s probably not been a waking or sleeping hour where she’s been totally put out of my thoughts. Everything reminds me of her.
May I praise her for a minute? She will feel totally unworthy of these comments, I know. That’s one thing that stands out to me: Charity’s great humility that keeps growing. She doesn’t recognize it, but those who are humble understand that they are too proud; those who are wise understand that they’re too foolish. Charity’s fervent love for the Lord Jesus is another attribute that attracts me to her. She’s conscious of her need for Him. She wants to know Him and follow in His steps. Her conscience is tender before the Lord. The Lord God is doing a wonderful work in her that is exciting to see. Charity is one who passionately loves people and delights to learn about them and encourage them. It’s more than an extroverted attitude; it’s a godly attitude. Charity is one who, I believe, has understood the heart of God better than many other Christians do. And, she seeks to emulate that holy nature of God.
She has an amazingly sweet and lovely smile that matches her charming personality-the most attractive smile I’ve ever seen, I really believe. In my eyes, she has the perfect blend of lightheartedness, goofiness, seriousness, and emotionality. She’s wonderfully balanced in introversion and extroversion-going through periods of quietness and periods of talkativeness. Charity has a deep well of creativity that still hasn’t been fully explored. Her thirst for knowledge and her passion for beholding beauty are refreshing to me.
I know that I’ve learned from and been challenged by Charity in regard to several things. She knows a lot about relationships and people. She understands the necessity of maintaining relationships and being open with friends. Charity understands the need to esteem others and to affirm others emotionally. She realizes that we need to have accountability and to encourage and be encouraged. There is a pursuit of positive thinking, love toward others, knowledge of the Lord and His Word, and consistency in her life.
There’s no doubt that I could go on and praise her more and more. I couldn’t ask for a better friend or girlfriend or fiancée. It’s my goal to make her the happiest woman alive.
Please pray for us as we consider our future together and unite our dreams, hopes, hearts, and lives.
Charity, I love you!!! =)
