Sometimes Thickheaded
Three times he told me to “look right here.” That’s how thickheaded I was. The first time the doctor said it, I looked at the light; it seemed like a good place to look, maybe. The second time I saw his finger pointing at his nose, so I looked at my nose, of course. “No, look right here.” “Oh, you mean your nose.” Yes, I did say that. :-D I had to laugh at myself afterwards.
Keeping Those Things I’ve Learned
It was a sleepy thought last night, but it was a sort of comforting and reassuring thought, since it seemed to partly unravel the “mystery” of what I should be doing during free time. It came to me suddenly: you must focus on keeping those things that you’ve already learned-practice them diligently. Start with those things. I’d like to think that I’ve been practicing everything I’ve already learned, but the truth is that I haven’t been well enough. Maybe it was a random, sleepy thought, but it makes sense. Why should we anticipate that God with teach us more, if we don’t even live well by what we’ve already learned? To me that means that I need to focus more on reading in general (as I’ve said before), encouraging, praying and studying the Bible (in an even more serious way), helping the family in various ways, and seeking open doors to witness and bless others-among other things, certainly.
Fellowship
One of the main blessings that I received while being with the church in San Antonio was witnessing and participating in the fellowship. It was highly refreshing to see a church operate with such love and care for one another. The church was indeed a church family. They would often meet on other days besides the first day of the week. They’d play together, eat together, and sing together. It seemed much more like the way things were in the early church period. ... The only problem with a church like we’re now attending is that it’s hard for two to “walk together except they be agreed”-and when they live so far apart from each other. *Laments this plight for a moment*

Grace is glory begun, and holiness is happiness in the bud.

[Edit: I forgot to mention that I also need to focus on learning to be more lighthearted (in an appropriate way). :)]
