Yes, I do remember it was Billy's birthday (Ok, roughly Billy and I always forgot each others exact birthdays, probably because we often "celebrated" them together after they passed when the starboard would open). I still remember coming down to the Sunsation house for opening weekend and Billy cooking spaghetti for everyone and throwing noodles at the ceiling.
I am really proud of you for the weight loss! That is great work and goes a long way to managing Diabetes. I'm doing pretty well managing it myself - i have my first bloodwork after starting the meds next month, but from my meter I am *averaging* 100 for the last 90 days, so I am pretty much ok. I am exercising regularly. Billy and I talked a bit about exercise as well and I know how tough a time he had with this due to his complications. I need to lose another 30 pounds, but I think I'll be able to do that.
Please do me one favor though - don't think of yourself as "no longer having diabetes". You still have it, it is just under control and you can keep it that way by living healthy. Don't let it come back and keeping testing yourself in the mornings!
