I'm not sure if I should make an announcement about this, but I might as well. My inmate, Chloe, is gone. She left before the port. I don't know why and I don't know where.

But I hate feeling like I'm not doing anything, so if anyone needs help with anything, I'm more than willing to give my time.

Two in a matter of months.

Who are you?

I'm Jane. And I'm in my cabin- level seven, the first room.

Doctor John Watson. Just arrived...um...I think it was last week. Sorry, the days have been running together.

If you'd still like those stitches, I'll be on my way shortly.

I don't want them, but I need them.

Thank you.

Heading out now then.

You're welcome.

[Jane had the door partly open, as she really didn't want to get up a second time when the doctor arrived. Her arm had seemed to stop bleeding the night before, when they arrived on the barge, but it had started back up as soon as she tried to do anything with it that morning. She had cleaned herself up, of course, but the clean cloth she had put against it earlier was already starting to turn red. Or so she imagined.

Her hands were cut, her ankle was swollen, but at least she was alive. Thanks to Elle.]

[John had knocked on the partly ajar door before letting himself in, though he closed it as he stepped inside for privacy's sake. This was his second...house call, if you could call it that, in the past week. It was enough to make him wonder what was wrong with the infirmary.]

Hello? It's Dr. Watson.

[Jane looked up from where she sat in her chair.] I should hope so. [She held up her arm and pulled away the cloth, revealing a deep gash just above her elbow.] I fell on a rock.

[She had a swatch of colour in her other hand, which she kept away from her line of sight. She was saving it for when he actually had to do the stitching.]

Don't bother with any of your medicines. Just stitch me up.

[John crossed the room and crouched down beside her chair, inspecting the wound and eyeing her warily at her unusual request. No local anaesthetic? ...tough girl.

Or possibly allergic.]

If you're sure.

[But that's all John said on the subject. He opened up his kit and began to get out the necessary tools, noticing the swatch in her hand but deciding not to comment.]

I'm just going to clean it first. Raise your elbow for me; it'll help stop the bleeding.

[She did as she was asked, lifting her elbow just slightly for him. She glanced at the colour in her hand but said nothing about it. It was going to be too much trouble to explain why. Just let him believe what he wanted to.]

It stopped bleeding last night, but started again today.

[John wiped the blood away and had himself a better look at the gash. It was deep, but she'd only need a few sutures.]

It's a nasty cut. If you moved your arm at all today, you probably tore open where the blood had clotted.

[Since the surgical suture was all pre-packaged and set to go, John just focused on getting Jane's elbow propped up and ready for the procedure. He pulled on a pair of latex gloves and showed her the surgical suture, which was really just a curved, threaded needle being held by a pair of tweezers.]

Right. If you've never gotten stitches before, this is what we use to do it. You only need two or three stitches, so while it may hurt a little, it'll be over quickly. Say when and I'll begin.

[She almost, almost laughed at that. She had plenty of them in her life. The needle was given only a quick glance before she dismissed it in her mind.]

Go on, then.

[John nodded and started on the sutures. He was quick but neat in his work - his former life had demanded it, and had finished the final stitch in no time at all.

He tied them off and inspected them, only covering them with gauze when he was sure they were up to his standards.]

Remember to keep the wound clean. I'll leave you some gauze - change the bandaging often, or come to me and I'll do it for you.

[She snorted.] I'm quite capable of changing my own bandages. [She had been biting her lip to keep the pain away and she could taste the blood in her mouth. She really, really wanted some Lime. Or different painkillers.]

Thank you.

I want to look at the sutures in a couple of days. You can either come see me in the infirmary, or send me a message.

[He tucked the used materials into a bag for medical waste and closed up his kit, hauling himself to his feet with a small grimace.

Bloody raptors.]

And you're welcome. Need anything else while I'm here?

[She noticed the expression.]

No, that's it. Are you alright?
