I'm starting to notice an imbalance when it comes to education. Not that I feel there was a lack in my own- after all, what more can they teach you when they don't know anything themselves- but that there is an emphasis on education in other places that there isn't where I am ( Read more... )

There are universities in my place of origin. You learn a great deal from learned professors, although they do not know of all.

They will not teach what they do not believe or do not approve of. Entire schools of thought have been left to rot, merely because they are not in fashion at the time.

They can indeed. I have harboured most unfashionable thoughts in my time and read most unfashionable academics.

There remains tension between the views of science and that of the church. But that is only in my time. In many others, all I think appears quite unfashionable.
