I'm starting to notice an imbalance when it comes to education. Not that I feel there was a lack in my own- after all, what more can they teach you when they don't know anything themselves- but that there is an emphasis on education in other places that there isn't where I am

Education wasn't universal in my time, but I had one. My sister went to a convent school, and I did get into university to study law. I wasn't able to finish though.

How do you study law?

And what's a convent school?

Law is the rules of the government. People can study it to become judges and lawyers. Judges make decisions about possible crimes against the law, and lawyers put together the cases for or against those decisions.

And a convent school is a special boarding school where nuns are the teachers.

Oh. A nun. I know what a nun is.

Yes, quite a bit of studying is required. It's complex.

Yes, my sister was taught by nuns.

Oh, the same thing everyone else teaches plus religious instruction.

So you learn about souls and how to read?

That sounds about right. I only went to day school, so I'm not completely certain what it was like.

Not boarding school. I attended classes during the day and went home afterward.
