Tutorial made in Gimp, should be translatable.

1. Prepare your base. My base, as you can see, without any colouring done to it, was a slightly darker one to begin with.

2. Duplicate your base three times and set all to screen at 100%. Flatten your image.

3. Duplicate your base again once and set that to Overlay at about 50%.

4. Create a new fill layer, and fill it with the colour c18f4e. Set this to Overlay at about 90% or so. If it looks to orangey, or not at all proper, play around with that setting until you're happy. I think the result of this step will vary on how much white there is in your original base.
5. Next I inserted this texture,
by tearjerkericons , and set it to lighten only at 100%. And voila! :) You're done! :) If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to ask! =)
