Hofner Impresses me!!!!!!!
Hofner is giving the 500/1 reproduction line new reference names!
Long known as The Beatle Bass, Hofner is tagging different 'era' violin bass guitars with Beatlesque names to denote the specific instrument years were employed (Instead of the actual years, themselves, which really just adds confusion... but whatever). The company has (frankly) made major bank on the models for decades... now they have a couple of Beatley titles! Way cool, and a wonderful nod to McCartney who made some spectacular history with the instrument.
A quick check revealed an ORIGINAL 1961 500/1 is selling in the neighborhood of $2800 - $3000. Holy shit. But... could you really want one that isn't the original 1961? NOPE. Well, not me, anyway. :)
