Anyone have the first volume?

I do. I was able to find it used ultra cheap. I think it should be a part of every Beatle fan's collection. It's just a joyous collection of recordings. I'm going to make a CD for the car, that's how much I love it.

That said, now that I've seen the tracklisting for Vol. 2, with hardly any "new" songs, I'm not excited enough to plunk down the money any time soon.

I'm interested in expanding my collection of Beatles music, but it's difficult for me to pick and choose what to spend my money.

I feel like if you have the albums with the Past Masters, BBC Vol. 1 and Anthology, you have a pretty well-rounded Beatles collection. Everything else, like the Decca recordings, feels to me like completist-only stuff that you can probably just listen to on YouTube.

Okay, that helps quite a bit. I have some of the vinyl albums, and music downloaded off of the internet. At one point I had all of the major record releases, and the past masters. I was considering getting the Anthology stuff because every once in awhile it pops up on my Pandora Beatles station. There are a few songs that I heard that I liked more than the official release.

I agree. I prefer Ringo's vocals on the live version of "I Wanna Be Your Man," and I already love the studio version.

It feels good to find 'gems' all these years later, and hear something new from something old. I love love love the anthology version of Norwegian Wood.

I like that one too. And if you're a fan of giggly!Paul, there's "Rocky Racoon," "And Your Bird Can Sing," and "Teddy Boy."

I forgot to add Love from Cirque du Soleil as a suggestion. Not necessarily essential, but I love the way the music was reconceptualized. And it has George's acoustic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," which alone makes it worth the price. Edit: Never mind, that version's on Anthology 3 anyway.

A case can be made for Let It Be Naked, but... eh.

Yeah, I...just it's not one of my favorites.
