Yoko Ono has unveiled a bus dedicated with the name of her late husband Beatle legend John Lennon in his home city.

The 80 year-old stood proudly in front of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus when it arrived at the Museum of Liverpool.

It began its journey in the US and will travel Europe teaching children about music with a message of world peace.

The 12 metre long vehicle includes two digital recording studios fitted by SONY and a roof top "Peace Deck" terrace which can hold 20 people.

Yoko Ono Lennon said: "I am so glad you are here to listen to these beautiful creations. I'm sure John would be very very happy."

"I was hoping John would be here to perform, I'm sure he would love to do that.

"It's very important we started this tour in Liverpool. I keep coming back here I don't know if it's John making me come back here.

"It's like John's childhood is showing me around. I feel close to him when I'm here and close to you guys too.

Brian Rothschild, Director of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, said: "Our mission is to provide a free hands on opportunity in music, media and broadcast projects.

"It's very emotional to be in John's town and we wanted to create a living legacy of John and Yoko believes in that too."
