A one-man-play actually sounds like a great solution to the problem of being unable to get as many people as were important for Brian's life on stage. Of course, that means they reall need a great actor to carry said play. (Not everyone is Patrick Stewart or Simon Callow, but I once saw an actress in a provincial theatre doing a magnificent one woman play as well.)
Incidentally, nemperor pointed out one of the most revealing Brian quotes re: the Beatles to me, from the Shea Stadium documentary (where I think the photo you used is from): "I've felt everything that every Beatles fan - male Beatles fan - has felt for them." Oh, Brian.
