petitemephisto and I just finished watching the first disc of
Glee, season 1 on DVD. It was just four episodes out of a 22-episode season, but those four episodes were shockingly good, especially for a show on Fox which has a reputation for canceling high quality shows before they've had a chance to prove themselves.
While not all of the music on the show was to my taste, the whole concept of the show was a breath of fresh air. The characters were all adorably quirky, and their interactions were both believable and comical. There were many, many bits on the show which added to the comedy value. I have high hopes that Glee will become an example for other television programs in the future.
