I had planned to do my Thanksgiving recap post this morning, but right now...meh. Serious lack of motivation. Suffice to say, it worked out extremely well, in taste, planning, and organization. We only really encountered two hitches; the weber gave out from under the weight of the turkey, but Mike P. valiantly sacrificed teh skin on a couple of fingers and saved the day there (and we were able to borrow our neighbor Berg's grill to cook the bird), and Kat and I discovered we didn't actually have enough casserole dishes to do the stuffing and teh casserole until far too late, but thankfully, katlyn pulled our asses from the fire on that one.
I will try to get the various receipes up soon (I'll mention the ham glaze here because I thought it was particularly fantastic; Barley Malt syrup, lemon pear marmalade, chopped fresh mint, and pepper, cooked over a bed of apples and onions).
Thank you to everyone who helped, from my fellow chefs to our photographers to arrangers and decorators. You all really made that day a dream come true.
