Xmas Cruise
Yesterday, I sat down and worked on some music. I figured out the lyrics to Xmas Cruise, and am very happy with them. As usual, after several years of thinking about them, they just came out in one dump, and with a tiny bit of editing it was finished. Now I've been able to structure the song as well, so I only need to complete one more song now, Drunk On Drunk. Very exciting.
I also started on another song, it's a bit like Stereolab's Brakhage, but has more chords. Quite an interesting sequence, I think Am, F7, F#m7 etc. I can't feel what it's about yet, but it will come to me eventually.
The joy of creating something, and the satisfaction of completing are two separate feelings, but I like them both. I should spend more time writing songs, it's fun!
I'd been toying for a while with working on some other projects (e.g. writing some band/horn hybrid arrangements for church) but decided that it's not worth my time. Let others do that. I just need to do what really interests me.
