I'm guessing none of my lj friends really use this anymore... most seem to be using myspace... Anyways, I have finally decided to start learning chords through playing songs I'm already familiar with. I've only been doing this a few days, but I'm currently switching between Jimmy Buffett, Cat Stevens, Lovin' Spoonful, and Gordon Lighfoot. Pretty soon I'll be picking up Johnny Cash, Johnny Rivers, Harry Chapin, and Credence Cleerwater Revival.
Oh, and for the record, my favorite songwriters are Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, John Sebastian (of Lovin' Spoonful), Gordon Lightfoot, and Jimmy Buffett. In about a year, if you ask me to play some songs for you, I will hopefully be pretty good at a number of the songs of all of these artists. It's a goal, may not end up happening, but I'm gonna have fun trying.
